Be Cancer Aware – Advocacy groups continue to raise awareness and offer support during lock down and beyond!

Sunderland People first are one of the key organisations offering education and awareness to people with a learning disability about the sign and symptoms of cancer, what to do about it and the support you can get.

Keeping People Connected in Sunderland Project!

We would like to let you know that from the 4th of May 2020 there is a dedicated number that you can call if you have a learning disability and/or autism or if you are an autistic adult where you will speak to an advocate from Sunderland People First or Autism in Mind.

That person can signpost you to a variety of services where you can get help during the coronavirus pandemic.

Be Health Smart Conference – 3rd March 2020 – St Peters Campus

We are hosting a health event for people with a learning disability, families and carers at The Reg Vardy Building, St Peters Campus, Sunderland University.

We are going to be carrying out health tests, providing work shops on cancer awareness, Stop and Watch campaign (recognising a poorly person) providing information on health passports and reasonable adjustments.

It would be great to see you there!
